How it works
Phoenix bulk trash pickup is by appointment only. Each household with city trash service gets four collections per calendar year, and you book each one ahead of time online or by phone.
Cities update these programs often. Confirm your date and the current rules on the official Phoenix bulk trash page or by calling 602-262-6251.
The rules
- Four appointments per household per calendar year
- Book at least 3 business days ahead
- One pile per residence, no larger than 10 cubic yards
- Place the pile within 5 feet of the curb or front edge of the property
- Set out no more than 7 days before your appointment, and by 5:30 a.m. on the day
- Cancel at least 2 business days ahead and it won't count against your four
Hauling it yourself
Phoenix residents with city trash service can also drop one load of up to one ton per month for free at the 27th Avenue or North Gateway transfer station with a current city services bill and matching photo ID.
A dump trailer makes that trip a lot easier: the hydraulic bed unloads the whole pile in seconds. See where to dump in the Phoenix area.
When bulk trash isn't enough
- You've already used your four appointments this year
- The next open appointment is weeks away
- Your pile is bigger than 10 cubic yards
- The items are still inside the house or in the backyard
That's when it's worth calling us. Junk removal in Phoenix means our crew carries it out and hauls it away on your schedule. Or rent a dump trailer and clear it at your own pace.
